JESSICA WATERS – FOUNDER & CEO
Jessica is a freelance Visual Journalist and Multimedia Producer. She has been documenting social and environmental issues for over 9 years. Her extensive travels have led her to document controversial stories from around the globe, from the effects of tourism on wildlife in Southeast Asia, methane gas in the Artic, to Biotoxin research in the Pacific ocean. Her work has been shown at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and worldwide on the National Geographic and Discovery Channel. Today, Jess continues to freelance on a variety of productions while spearheading the development of the GEOguides project. Jessica works with the team across all aspects of the business including business development, branding, marketing, production, writing and web development.
MATTHEW ROZNOVAK – CO-FOUNDER & COO
Matt is a JD/MBA graduate with a broad range of experience in business, law, consulting, and production. Originally from Houston, Texas, Matt studied government and Spanish at the University of Texas and subsequently studied law and business management at Case Western Reserve University. Matt has worked as a management consultant, litigation support attorney, executive producer, cinematographer, and business affairs advisor. Matt is currently an Executive Producer at Rank and File Media and often works as a Cinematographer on a variety of multimedia projects.
JUSTIN PUDA – CO-FOUNDER & CMO
Justin is adventure wrapped in a technical mind. His vision for design, animation, motion graphics, 3-D, and Augmented Reality has taken the cliché “box” we used to think outside of and turned it into a virtual world of possibilities we have yet to discover. Beginning with a solid background in still photography, he has moved fluidly through the visual world, shooting video, editing, and working in all aspects of post-production. Spending his free time in the mirrored worlds of surfing above, and spear fishing below the surface of the ocean, he keeps the creative boundaries of his mind open to all creative solutions.
Justin has created motion graphics for clients such as Oprah, Sony Playstation, Hewlett Packard, Deutsch, Red Bull, National University, Macbeth Shoes, Poor Specimen Productions, and Fuel TV. His main client is currently Sony, where he is a freelance compositor and VFX artist.
STEFAN JENSEN – CTO
Stefan is the CEO and co-founder of Motionstrand, a leading digital agency located in sunny
southern California. For over 15 years Motionstrand has been recognized for building
international digital presence and market share for fortune 100 brands. Stefan and his team
were some of the earliest pioneers of implementing and scaling open source solution. Today
Motionstrand enjoys partnerships and accreditations with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Drupal
and other digital category leaders. Motionstrand has always had a strong focus on promoting
philanthropic work towards protecting our environment and educating those around us to
better understand how our daily actions impact our planet. We lead by example. Through team
sponsored beach cleanups, recycling efforts and support to exemplary efforts such as 1% For
The Planet, PADI’s Project Aware, The Sufrider Foundation and others.
Stefan’s role with GeoGuides will primarily be to provide strategy and leadership related to the
initial GeoGuides platform development and technology foundation. Through Stefan,
GeoGuides will leverage over 12 years of entrepreneurial spirit, startup strategy and digital
infrastructure development experience.
DR. KIMO MORRIS – SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR & HOST
Kimo has worked as an environmental consultant to government agencies and industry for 16 years. Kimo is currently an Associate Professor of Biology at Santa Ana College and CEO of Ecomarine Consulting LLC.
Kimo received his Ph. D. in Biological Oceanography from UCLA, a M. Sc. in Entomology from Oregon State University and his B.A. in Zoology from U.C. Santa Barbara.
DAVE WEIDETZ – ART DIRECTOR
Dave stems from 10+ years of experience in visual concepts and creative solutions in design and visual communication. Dave answers to a demand of creative services from corporate clients in the art, surf, skate, snow, music, film, fashion and lifestyle industries.
He has extensive experience in all aspects of film and video production with emphasis on creative direction for television, movie, and commercial video projects. Dave creates visual identity systems through animated graphics themes, visual concepts, motion graphics, storyboards, motion logo and product treatments, digital effects, editing, and commercial post production. Dave currently serves as Art Director for Dragon Alliance USA. Not only he is a respected artist and painter but he also manages all creative branding and marketing for GEOguides.
TOM HOLDEN – UNDERWATER DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Tom is an award winning photographer, cinematographer and underwater filmmaker with clients ranging from Cartier to Playboy. He has helped develop underwater housings systems for notable companies including Sony Broadcast Division and GoPro. Now an underwater specialist whose credits include The Aquanauts, a popular Animal Planet series, Drop Zone, a Tahiti and Fiji based production focusing on surfing and diving, Time Wrap, a Discovery Channel series, Japan’s Sunken Pyramids where he shoot the controversial Lost City of Mu. He has worked with PADI International, the recreational dive industry leader, for over a decade shooting their award winning and ever expanding library of diverse shows. Tom is currently working on Team Deep Swim for the National Geographic Channel, a show featuring an elite group of international super-divers from every continent and serves as Underwater Director of Photography for GEOguides productions.
CHRIS CALDERON – CAMERA OPERATOR
Chris aka “Punky”, is a freelance cinematographer based out of San Diego and Los Angeles. He’s been crafting his skills for over 12 years, receiving his BA in Film from the Brooks Institute of Photography. Chris has work with companies such as Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, Paramount, Mtv and Red Bull. He currently runs his own production company called Calderon Films based out of Dana Point. He is a outdoor and action sports enthusiast that likes to surf, snowboard, scuba dive and wakeboard every chance he gets.
BRANDON PUDA – AUDIO ENGINEER AND COMPOSER
Brandon is a freelance composer, audio engineer, and outdoor enthusiast based out of San Diego, California. For the last 7 years he has been involved with a variety of productions including working as a production sound recorder, mixing engineer, editor, composer, producer, as well as a performing artist in his free time. He has worked with clients such as Hewlett Packard, Jenny Craig, Old Mutual, Loreal Paris, Irons Brothers Productions, Dragon Alliance, PBS and more. Brandon currently serves as the Audio Engineer and Composer for the Geoguides Media Project; a role he enjoys greatly as it allows him to merge two of his favorite passions, music and the environment.
JONATHAN S. STORPER – ATTORNEY (INVESTOR RELATIONS)
Jonathan leads the corporate department at Hanson Bridgett. He previously founded and led Hanson Bridgett’s sustainable law practice which focuses on developing a more sustainable economy by assisting mission driven companies and high impact investors in a variety of industries. He represents entities and their investors in connection with business and intellectual property transactions, including formation, finance, contracts, licenses, joint venture and development, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, e-commerce, technology-related matters and general corporate law. Jonathan also represents many non-profit charities, foundations, and business associations.
Jonathan chaired the legal working group which drafted and advocated for benefit corporation legislation in California. A benefit corporation is a new class of for profit corporation and the first that is required to create a material positive impact on society and the environment and to meet higher standards of accountability and transparency in addition to creating shareholder value. He was selected as the California Lawyer Attorney of the Year for his work on this legislation which is now the law in 30 states and has been introduced in 16 other states. He is proud that Hanson Bridgett is the first law firm to become a certified B corporation.
BECKI UENO – ATTORNEY (BENEFIT CORPORATION RELATIONS)
Becki is the President and Managing Attorney at Sustainable Law Group, PC., a California Benefit Corporation. She specializes in nonprofit, social enterprise and estate planning law utilizing an integrative law approach. Over the past 18 years, Becki Ueno has integrated her passion for environmental and social rights by either directing, fundraising for, or serving on the board of a wide range of organizations including Environment California, the Sierra Club, Save the Children, and the Sustainable Business Council of Los Angeles.
