The quality of GEOguides largely depends on whether we can reduce the environmental impact of our own operations. This includes auditing the resources we use to run our business and taking responsibility for how our platform influences people and places.

ENERGY POSITIVE

We have our site audited for carbon emissions to calculate Page Size, Page Views, End User Device, and Network Equipment. We purchase three times (3X) the amount of energy that our platform and office uses in the form of wind energy credits that we put back into the grid.

According to the Web Neutral Project, an average sized website, will emit 4,700 pounds of CO2e in a year. Growth in web hosting services is estimated to be greater than 400% each year for the foreseeable future. Information Technology is set to surpass the airline industry, contributing 3.5% of global climate change. Aiming for an energy positive footprint is not just a choice, it’s a necessity.

Investing in our planet is our business model, it is not an after thought or a marketing phrase. Giving back Is our responsibility for being on the planet. We give 10% of our profits to environmental groups by funding projects that implement solutions to the environmental crisis.
